Had complete brakes redone recently and now the rt front hub is rubbing on the backing plate. How do I fix this? Drums turned new shoes bearings the works. They were squeaking really bad. Anyone have an idea how to repair? Please send me mail with an answer if you know. The brakes are original mechical wtih new unbent rods.

I would pull the rf off and check to see if the inner bearing is correct, check the numbers, is it the same as the LF ?
were exactly is it rubbing ? on drum on brake shoes edge, or drum hitting on backing plate, ?
let us know, for more help

bearings are good, It is hitting the drum rubbing on the backing plate. Never had this trouble until the brakes were replaced. I ever got some very good used front hubs bit it did not change anything. Then I found the drum had been rubbing on the backing plate. The brakes also squeaked all the time when applied fresh in the am or pm. Squeaked all the time when applied and only the fronts. ugh???

I finally found what the squeaking brakes whrere all about. The shop put the brakes on in refversed and when we put back as to factory, no more squeaking, WOW! Thank you all for your assistance on this crazy problem. Car runs top and stops on a dime with mechanical brakes.

For the 36 the front and rear brake shoe and their backing plates are identical all 8 pieces, front of the car and rear there is not a side that faces inward or outward.
