Topic: 41 Convertible Interior Door/Shoulder Panel Trim

ford1941    -- 07-31-2010 @ 8:23 PM
I am restoring the interior on my 41 Ford Super Deluxe Convertible. As all the original interior upholstery and trim was missing, I am not sure what interior trim I am supposed to have. Does anyone know if the 41 convertible had plastic trim running horizontally on the doors and shoulder (inner quarter) panels? I know the 42-48s had some plastic and stainless trim, but I am not sure about the 41s. Also, if the 41 did have this trim, does anyone have any idea where to locate these pieces? Thanks, Scott

LeBaron-Bonney makes a complete kit for your car. They will send a free information packet to help you decide.

I agree with TomO regarding the L-B kit. Upon request, they will send you complete information. I put their kit in my '47 convertible, and it is authentic. One change I would make is to use leather seat covering. I installed plastic to save money, and it is easily damaged, particularly after sitting in the sun. Leather is expensive, but worth the cost. Some of the door trim, such as the plated metal pieces that hold the plastic trim on were not available at the time, and not being reproduced. I was lucky, and could save the ones on my car, but ask about them. Their number is 800/221-5408.

Thank you for the responses and the vote of support for LeBaron-Bonney. I am already using their interior and convertible top kit (with the leather seats) for my car. Per your suggestion, I will contact them and see if they can help me locate the trim I need. Thanks for the phone number. Scott
