I need a Ford script battery for my 1938 Ford tudor. I'm going to the 60th anniversary show in Dearborn in June. I have a battery on order but it doesn't look like it will be here in time. If you have a battery you can sell me or even loan me at the show, please let me know. I will be grateful
Terry

They are only original once

And if anyone has a truly good method for painting the gold oval, please post it. I’ve tried Testors via both foam roller and brush and was not satisfied with either. Thank you.

Foam roller is too soft. You have a smooth hard surface with sharp detail cuts, meaning you need a fairly hard rubber printing roller. There are small printing rollers at hobby shops. Testers gold works well with those rollers, just a little dab will do ya, roll it out back and forth on a flat surface for a correct amount of paint, then go for it. Remember, this was done at the factory, just takes a few seconds, and on to the next battery.

Agree. If you get this too perfect you probably have "over-restored". The factory would not have had motivation to make it perfect. I doubt that customers would have complained about imperfect lettering on their battery.
