my 1948 Ford 2dr,with the 239 doesn't want to stay running and it won't idle. The car sits a lots, but it always started and ran well. The 94/59 carb has been rebuilt and fuel pump fairly new. I am getting gas to carb, but not a strong stream out of spray nozzles , since carb was rebuilt within last two years I have always had had to pour gas into carb to start, maybe fuel or ignition, any ideas??

Have you checked for vacuum leaks? A vacuum gage can tell you a lot of information on how the engine is running. How old is the gas in the tank? Is the engine running on all eight cylinders? A check of the spark plugs will tell how each cylinder is working. Have you checked the compression? How about valve clearance? Even though the carb has been rebuilt, there could be an internal problem with it. I had a "new" rebuild kit a couple of years ago that had gaskets that were soft and pliable but did not seal the top of the float bowl to the carb body causing an internal vacuum leak. Good luck, Gil
