Topic: GAS SENDING UNIT GROUND

I recently got a Bob Drake gas tank & sending unit for my 1950 Ford. The sending unit has a wire that appears to be a "ground" wire. I am not sure where to attached this ground wire. The trunk floor has a small acces panel which can be removed to reveal the sending unit area of the upper gas tank. Would it be suitable to attach the ground wire to the screw that holds the access panel to the trunk floor panel? If not, where is the most appropriate location for the sending unit ground wire? In addition, do I need to attach a separate ground-wire between the gas tank and frame? I appreciate this forum to help me avoid some of the expensive mistakes that "experience" can cost.

The access panel screw would work as a ground connection. You should not have the add a ground from a metal tank to the frame. The hardware attaching the tank should provide a good ground.

Tom, thanks for the input. The only contact for the tank support straps is where they engage thew metal ridge surrounding the edge of the tank; I trust this will be sufficient.
