The cylinder heads on my 36 ford only have a #1 on the drivers side and a #2 on the other. No other serial numbers. They have a small ford logo in the center of each. Does anyone have any thoughts on what they might be. Thanks...

I don't think the numbers have anything to do with the engine since the #1 cylinder is on the front right (Pass.) side and #5 is front left. Early Fords 21 stud aluminum heads were first marked with the Ford logo very late in 1934 production about August. By 1935 production the part number is also cast into the heads. So your heads fall between these periods and should be found on the later 34 Ford. Numbers found inside circles are the manufacturer code of the head for Ford. The V8 Clubs 35-36 restoration book is a great source of info. This message was edited by 40 Coupe on 12-6-22 @ 6:07 AM
