These days, how much would one expect to pay for recoring a '48 sedan radiator with a copper core?

If you can find one, an expert radiator shop can do it, but by the time you buy the core and pay the labor, it is likely you will have about as much in it as a new radiator out of the box. The last really good rebuilt radiator we bought came from Don Baxter of Baxter Ford parts in Kansas. 785/842-9256. I don't know how many he has, as it has been a long time ago. Don is a first class guy.

There's only one place I trust in this area to properly re-core a flatty radiator. The normal cost is between $425 - $500. If you buy a NOS radiator be certain it was stored properly. I have had a number of them through the past years and a few were rotten (soft) from poor storage. In the case of Baxter, if he says it's good, it's good... count on it.
