Topic: 1935 Roadster Steering

PNutt0    -- 10-30-2022 @ 10:39 AM
I am trying to convert my 1935 Roadster from Front drum to disc brakes. I have bought the parts, but the spindles supplied are different to the originals. I know 35 was an odd year, but my spindles have the kingpin thrust bearing on the top of the spindle,
whereas the new ones are intended to go at lower end of kingpin gap in the spindle. I see how to add a lower steering arm, but I have a top link connection above the spindle, with the bearing under it. I can't understand
how to connect this with the new spindles.

Anyone with ideas?

Unfortunately you have posted your question on the wrong web site.. The EFV8 Club Forum is generally a forum for the stock, as Ford built-um repairs, etc.
i would suggest you direct your question to the Ford Barn, the members of that forum are a little more friendly to modifications of the vintage Fords.

Fordbarn is only a LITTLE more friendly. Try HAMB, https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/
