Gentlemen, I have a 21 stud engine block with stamped numbers and markings on the top intake surface of this block on both the drivers and passengers sides. I am guessing this was a rebuild , but the stamps include the star and factory style 6. there is also an odd A in a circle. just curious what these are -rebuild , canadian , ??? thanks guys Chris

The Ford factory did not stamp the vehicle serial number on the engine. Some states required replacement engines to be stamped with the vehicle serial number on the block at the time of replacement. Impossible to say where the engine was rebuilt or if it was rebuilt at all. From the serial number I doubt this was a canadian block. This message was edited by 40 Coupe on 10-18-22 @ 5:35 AM

aprreciate it thanks - just curious seems odd for a rebuild shop to stamp all that on the block - maybe state requirement
