Can someone tell me where the headlight fuse is located on a 39 deluxe 2 door sedan ?

All lights on an early ford are fused up under the dash panel above the steering column. There is only that single fuse that serves all lights on the car. If it blows again, look for a short somewhere in the system.

39 Fords are not fused. It is a self resetting circuit breaker that protects the lighting circuit. It does not have to be reset. When the circuit breaker senses a problem it opens the circuit for the lights and after a short period it closes the circuit so the headlights may flash ON/OFF/ON etc. Yes it is on the inside of the firewall above the steering column.

Oops! Yes, 40 coupe is correct. Your circuit breaker is located in the same place as the fuse block had been up to 1938. It's function is to break the circuit momentarily, cool off, and reset. This on/off action occurs rapidly, making a buzzing sound, and permits the headlights to function, although at a lesser brightness.
