I do have several good 81 blocks, takes about 4/6 months to get my guy to machine one. not many machine shops will do these blocks because the valve seats scare them. general location? I am in upstate sc

Thanx cub45, ronnie recommended ernie from A&M who is building my engine. The block is cracked and he's been in contact with Ronnie who's racing in California and not building my engine. We're still searching for a good block or hoping to cut to the chase and find a complete rebuilt if possible.

what of remanfactured blocks? I've heard they've even been made of aluminum.

so I'm looking for a 81A engine online , and a guy has a 1938 coupe with " original" engine, good running. the only difference from 41 is the crab distributor and the fan mounted up around where the generator is on my coupe. Does 1938 share the same block as 41?

We do blocks at our shop and complete engines, and have done this nearly 40 years. The blocks are boiled clean and Magnafluxed before rebuilding commences. Cylinders are rebored, and valve hardened seats installed. The crankshaft is measured, and reground if necessary. When reassembled, the engine is run on our test stand before delivery, for final adjustment. This not an inexpensive procedure, but is required for assured performance.
