We recently purchased a 1950 Ford Coupe for our 17 year old son. Looking for advice on the recommended must haves when rebuilding the engine, particularly for crank and camshaft upgrades.

I would keep it fairly stock. If an 8cm Mercury cam can be found, I'd use it with a 4 inch Mercury crankshaft. I used Offenhauser heads on my last rebuild & would NOT waste $$ on them again. Hope this helps. You are doing a neat thing.
