How were the grounding studs on the firewall treated? Painted body color? Masked and plain steel or plated? This is for a ‘38 Standard Tudor. Thanks!

In 1939 and 1940 (at least) the studs were masked. With that "mask" there was a washer of sorts placed directly next to the dash panel. Thus, NO paint on the stud(s) and likewise, no paint surrounding the stud on the sheet metal. Mike "Kube" Kubarth
