My '37 Fordor has the original 6V positive ground electrical system. The current ground path is as follows: Positive battery strap to the firewall and a ground strap form the firewall to the rear bolt of the intake manifold. That's it as far as I can see. Is this correct? It seems like there should be a ground strap from the engine block to the frame as well?? Thanks in advance!

“Is this correct? It seems like there should be a ground strap from the engine block to the frame as well?? “ That is correct. Frame doesn’t need to be grounded. Everything electrical is on the engine or the body. Firewall ground strap grounds the body.

I’d be inclined to clean attachment areas with a Dremel to improve electrical bond beyond the bolt / stud; lots of paint.

Yep.., it's bare metal under the ground straps.
