  Hello Everyone
Does anyone can recommend me a body shop in South Florida?
I;m planning to do a partial restoration!
Best regards
Fred

Fred: Many body shops won't tackle old cars because it requires some special skills. Old metal can be difficult to weld, as it is often very thin from exposure. Painting an old car is another very tricky job, as most of the sheet metal contains remnants of years of polishing, leaving silicone, in particular,
embedded in the pores of the metal. This creates "fish eyes" that often resist the preventative additive meant to allow the paint to flow. Some parts of my '47 had to be repainted several times to get a satisfactory result. All of this "runs the clock" so much that the expense is shocking. If you are a Club member, using your roster, I'd contact members in your area for recommendation of a shop. The best work is often done by independent or retired body men, rather than modern "collision" places.

I remember my granpa working on his ford 46 and that looks so natural that is hard to believe that is getting to difficult to get someone who can do the job
I agree with you..this is not for a "collision" place who are pieces re-placers.
Any recommendation you can get, is highly appreciated!
Have a great day
