Topic: 1936 rear main drain pipe

voced    -- 07-06-2022 @ 4:51 PM
I made a rear main bearing drain pipe for my 36 LB motor that goes into the oil. Not sure this is the right thing to do. Does anyone have any suggestions on this topic or picture of one that might be helpful. Maybe, I shouldn't even put one on.
Thanks Jerry

Does anyone of you V8 guys have any knowledge about this?
Your opinion would be greatly appreciated.

All of the oil return pipes I have seen stop short of the oil level. Even if the vehicle is going up a long grade the oil will not reach the end of the pipe. The later 40 style is only about 1 1/2" OAL. Your pipe looks very good just a bit long.

Your reply is really appreciated. I also posted this on Ford Barn and got another thought. You guys are amazing on your knowledge of these old V8's. Any other comments are helpful. I plan on putting the engine back in next week.
