Fellow members: I have a 1952 Ford Crestline Victoria that has two different heads. Is it possible that it came from the Chicago factory that way?It is not an issue with me, but I would appreciate some thoughts from you! Thank you for your response!

The 8ba head is lower compression than the EAB head which is most likely original to your car. My guess is that sometime back in the day someone replaced a cracked or other wise damaged EAB head with the 8ba one. Will it make a difference? My guess is probably not but if it were mine I'd replace the 8ba head with a correct EAB head. 8ba heads are easier to find but EAB heads are out there. ______________ No signature

If you need a set of EAB heads, I have a set available that have been cleaned and surfaced at a machine shop. Let me know if you are interested in them.

My 52 Victoria had a Merc head on one side & a truck head on the other. Had an 8cm cam & dome top pistons. It ran smooth & very good performance. It began to use lots of oil & had some piston slap. So, rebuilt it with Offy heads & Max1 cam installed by the builder. It ran better before rebuild. Just saying.....

Sometimes Stock is better than Modified. If you want a reliable driver that idles properly, gets good fuel economy, has good low-end torque, great drivability, and runs knock-free on regular gas; keep the engine stock.

Hey CAR CRAZY! I agree with you . My mixed head v8 runs great! Idles smoothly at 575 rpm. I'm running a Holly 2100 carb rebuilt by Charlie Schwendler. Autolite 437's work the best after trying others. I installed a PCV system and scr*pped the original emission set up. Regular gas seems fine with an occasional fill up with higher octane. At this point I will leave well enough alone. I'm happy with my Ford! Its no beast but with the Fordomatic kickdown it hops!

What are you asking for the heads? I have a 53 Sunliner which is 100% stock with the exception of the heads which are probably from a 51- driving me crazy- thx!

Hi Jim, The heads are available for $345. That is the amount that I have invested in them. They were purchased at an Early Ford V-8 National Meet in 2016. They were bought to replace some Offenhauser aluminum heads that came on a '53 Ford I owned at the time. Since the engine was running well at the time other than the need to run premium gas, these heads were never installed. Once I bought the heads I took them to a local machine shop where they were degreased, Magnafluxed, resurfaced and glassbeaded. Hope you can use them on your '53 Sunliner to make it 100% stock so it can be point judged without getting gigged for incorrect heads.
