Looking to replace my coil. how many ohms should my coil be rated for? 1949 Ford V8 6 volt pos ground. Thanks

6 volt ignition should have about 1.5 ohm total resistance, to get about 4 amps running thru the coil and points. I believe no ignition resistor was used 1949 and later, it’s all in the coil on your car. If I am correct, no resistor used, get a 1.5 ohm coil.
