1941-1948 "Fat-Fendered Fords", have essentially the same engine to frame dimensions. I can't attest whether the "dual manifolds" will fit, but the clearances in 47-48 applications should be the same. Sometimes you just have to "tweak" a bit. I ran a set of Belond steel-tube welded headers on my 38 that came off of a 40. I had to put a "clearance-dent" near the steering box, but they served for years. All 221-239-256 inch Flatheads, except V8-60's (1932-1953) have the same exhaust port layout. The only real issues is engine to frame/steering box clearance. The early (32-39) frames are narrow, and the later frames are a little wider in the engine bay area.

I think you will have trouble with these on drivers side where they or it will exit and if cast iron like I assume you mean no tweaking will get you away from steering box. Again I am thinking this is a rear exit,if front exit even more problems and no room.

Lou, First off, anyone can label something anything they want, so buyer beware. Ford cast iron exhaust manifolds will work equally well whether the drivers side exit is front or back. The only tweaking required is to the exhaust pipe to clear the clutch pedal, which is a dent at that point. Alan

My dad has a '48 Convertible with dual exhaust. I have a '47 Fordor with single exhaust. I have never installed dual exhaust on one, so can't say anything about "tweeking" but what I know is that the '47 and '48 body and engine are the same. If the exhaust fits one, it should fit the other. Chris

I asked the seller the same question, and he said they will NOT fit a 1947. I think I'll pass! Thanks for the replies! Lou G

I have dual exhaust on my '47 using the original manifolds. Where the tricky part arises is getting the left side head pipe threaded past the clutch and brake pedals. I have yet to see a premade pipe that fits out of the box. Mine was constructed at a local muffler shop by an artist with the bender. The rest was easy. The later left side manifold will work if you have a shop that can make the pipe.

I don't think the seller is being dishonest with you if Ebay current item is what I think you are describing,he may be going by Green Ford parts book and it list the 21A-9431 as Manifold(exhaust)-LH-LHD for Pass,Comm,Trucks-90 & 100 h.p.(8cyl) 42-47.Now I do not know why it does not show up to 48 as some post it would be same engine and chassis,mayby the 48 went to another type without the heat riser or something. The 8BA ones the guy shows look like regular 49-53 manifolds to me not the dual exhaust left which I do not beleive he stated as such.Problem with these are they will fit the engine but front crossover is not possible in any pre 1948 and I assume 48 pass also but mayby not the 48 truck.
