Topic: 1936 Humpback Trunk Seal

I'm ready to install a trunk seal in a 1936 humpback after fabricating the metal retaining gutter for the seal (the lower section of this piece seems predisposed to rust away because it holds water). Here is where I could use some advice: should the seal be installed with a particular adhesive, and if so, where should it be applied? I'm guessing that if adhesive should be used, it probably would go on the surface outlined in the picture, but I'd appreciate the advice of those how have gone down this path before.
Thanks very much.

Use 3M Weather strip adhesive; Let it get tacky (Per instructions;) and install the seal. Maybe you can fashion it so there is a space at the lowest point( by cutting of a little of the seal); so the water can drain out.

There is a very good video on YouTube that shows the proper way to glue on the weatherstripping. Worth taking a look.
