Is anyone else still waiting on the Jan/ Feb V8 Times magazine ? I miss my "hard copy".

kirkstad    -- 02-20-2022 @ 11:34 AM
I live on the east coast and still waiting on mine. It has been late coming this last year or so, so I have learned to try and be patient.

If you are a member, and it sounds like you are, you should have received an email blast from the Club's membership company, Cornerstone Registration, last week announcing the digital version of the Jan/Feb 2022 issue is available for viewing.
While it is not the magazine that you hold in your hands, it is the actual magazine on your PC.

Now, if you did not receive the email blast, then that means that your membership information needs to be updated. You can do that yourself, or contact Cornerstone to have your information updated by adding your email.

When the email blast announcing the issue is available for online viewing is sent, that also means that the magazine is at the printer and almost ready for mailing.

Please note, the ability to view the digital version is an ADDITION to receving the actual magazine.

Still waiting here in Seattle. I'm like others...I got the email blast, thank you, but I still miss having the hard copy. This delay of the printed copies keeps happening. Can we please do better? If someone is trying to slowly get rid of the printed edition we'd all like to know so we can discuss it.

This comes up every two months and you would think that by now most would have accepted the fact that once the printer delivers the magazines to USPS, no one with any connection with the Club is in control of their delivery. Evidently not as there remain those who see a conspiracy at the national club level to deliberately deny them or delay the delivery of their hard copy of the magazine. It's like a scratched CD stuck playing the same notes over and over and never reaching the point of where the explanation from the last issue is replayed.

It has been suggested that the Club should not continue to use the lower cost media mail rates for the mailings, but rather they should be sent by first class mail. I wonder how many would gladly pay twice what they are paying now for faster delivery? After all, the Club has not increased its U.S. annual membership fee of $35 for nearly 16 years so the answer might be a resounding "YES" or would it be something else?

Mine came today. My wife works for Northwest bank so the article on their armored car was of great interest for both of us. I'm sure she'll want to show it to their branch manager!

The USPS is not what it used to be as far as delivery. I recently paid to send a check "overnight mail" for a car. The seller got it 4 days later! The USPS was supposed to refund the overnight fees due to their not delivering on time. Five months later I'm still waiting for the refund.
Since we now get the magazine on-line along with our print copy we can read some or all of it before the hard copy arrives. All for the same subscription price and has David has pointed out there have been no price increase for 16 years on subscriptions.

How do I find the online version?

efv8CofAAdmin    -- 03-02-2022 @ 8:48 PM
  First --
Being a member of the Club, you need to have your email address on file. Once your email is on file, you will receive an email when the next issue is available to to view.
Second--
Go to Current News on the menu to the left
Scroll down to the article " Digital Version of the V-8 Times is now here" will explain step by step

Got mime last week Thursday. But all mail is slower now that Trump's Postmaster is still trying to run the Post Office out of business soit can be sold to private industry. Everything is slower delivery except the junk mail.
Our new Editor is doing a fine job with the V8 Times. The full width photos on the covers have been a very interesting addition.
All you forum members shou;d be submitting stories.

Well here it is March 10 and I finally received my January-February V-8 Times here in Northern , California(Napa). Thank goodness I could read some of the articles in the on-line version.

Just like Tom, my fellow Northern California member, I finally received my V8 Times hard copy on March 10th (Thursday). San Francisco Bay Area.

Reading the articles, it jogged my memory of the same online articles that I had read 2 weeks ago.

Have a nice weekend, everyone.

Tom
