Topic: 1947 radio delete plate

I'm looking for a '47 radio delete plate. I have 3 parts sources that are within driving distance from me and all of them have delete plates from different years but not a '47! Is there something I don't know about '47 dashboards and there were no delete plates available that year? Are there any earlier year delete plates that would fit my car? I ask these questions because the dash 'cut out' in the dashboard of the '47 radios is not a generic rectangle.

Run a want ad on this site and the Fordbarn for the delete plate. They are out there and I see them periodically at swap meets. They can be either in the tan plastic or the gray/tan plastic. Haven't priced them lately but I suspect they are in the $15-25 range. They fit the 42-48 cars.

I've never heard of a radio delete plate but, if you are talking about a radio opening cover plate I have one that I removed from my 47 coupe. It's in good condition and I'm willing to sell it to you if you want it. See attached for pictures of it.
