Topic: 35-40 fender patch panels

IT"S NOT MINE. On ebay now is a guy offering hand formed patches for the wheel well opening on 35-40 fords. Patching that edge has always been a problem and its always been where the fender "splits". I wish this was available when I was doing my 36 fenders.

I've also offered to give this guy my template for a patch panel that replaces the inner edge of the rear fenders (where it bolts to the body) on 35/36 fords. Maybe he'll offer both items.

Interested? ebay Item number: 230497797635

The biggest problem when installing patch panels is finding solid metal to attach them to. Too often you keep cutting back until the patch is too small. The edge of the original fender must be formed to accept the patch. Our body man uses an air tool that creates a recess for the patch so there is no lap visible. Many repro patches are made of very light metal, so be careful before you start cutting.
