I have an Optima battery for my 36 Ford 3 window coupe, I need to build a battery box for it . Any ideas? Hank Hancock

You can lay the Optima at an angle in the existing box. I'd installed an Optima in a friend's '36 last year just that way. I had purchased a cheap (1" wide) binding strap and tied the battery down with that. Cut off the excess strap... Mike "Kube" Kubarth

Good morning Hank. One option would be to use a 1949/1950/1951 Ford passenger car battery box. That's what we did to accommodate a six volt Optima battery when converting the 1939 hydraulic brakes on our '36 roadster to a more modern dual reservoir master cylinder. The later battery box fit very well with a couple of minor modifications ...... two bolt holes and a vertical steel plate to hold in the Optima. Hopefully you can enlarge these photos.
