Topic: 1936 wiper arm to shaft assembly

I recently purchased a wiper motor and arm for my '36 pickup from two separate sources. I'm confused as to how the arm should be attached to the motor shaft. The attached picture shows the motor and the arm as I received them. Can anyone give me advice or supply a picture of a correct assembly? Thanks much!

Place the hooked end of the wiper arm through the hole in the shaft of the wiper motor and then pull the metal shield over the wiper motor shaft. The spring will then hold the shield over the motor shaft to keep the arm attached to it.

Thanks. I’ll give it a try.

Someone was nice enough to send me this drawing by Ken Wescott of Oregon. Thanks to him and the sender
