Topic: 1937 Ford Hood Prop Lower Mount

dennisamurphy    -- 08-21-2021 @ 11:46 AM
I believe that in the process of adding the "Painless" Wiring Harness to my Ford, the previous owner may have removed the lower Hood Prop and possibly discarded whatever sort of Lower Mounting Bracket there was for the Prop.
I found what I believe to be the Prop in a pile of excess parts from the car, but there was no Lower mount bracket and I have no idea what it looks like or where to locate one for sale.
Any info, or pictures would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Dennis

  Dennis,
See if this helps. I can take more detailed pics of the lower section if necessary.

Caution alert regarding installing a hood prop on a '37 or '38. Factory props were deliberately removed to prevent bent hoods. Read this discussion:

It's not that big a challenge to remember to raise the hood slightly before lowering it. Somehow, thousands of
'37 and '38 Fords survived without bent hoods.
