My 1939 Ford Deluxe Convertible only has shocks in the front which look like today's traditional shocks. There are no shocks in the rear. Is this how the vehicle came from the factory in 1939?

I would suggest you get the 38-39 restoration book sold by the club on this web site. There should be front and rear shocks. both are made by Houdaille Mfg. Co. and are completely different in appearance from the more modern shocks you have.
