Topic: 1941 Ford Coupe Super Deluxe Restro

Scando    -- 07-15-2021 @ 1:54 PM
  Greetings.

My Dad and I just started the restoration (with the assistance of a restro shop) of his first car, 1941 Ford Business Coupe Super Deluxe. He has held onto it and has not driven it since he left for Vietnam. We have been helping the team that is assisting us fix the car up to find parts. We are ISO of center grille and a complete gauge cluster. Where do you all tend to find early Ford parts, that aren't beat to h*ll.

I appreciate your help, and anyone who has done a 41 please share any pain points that we should be aware of .

There might be a gauge cluster at the Early Ford Store in San Dimas, CA.

I think I saw one there a few months ago.

A couple of more places: Southside Obsolete in Minn. see the web page. Third Gen Auto in Tenn also has a web page but also contact and talk to both.

And this site’s classified section, wanted page. Lots of members here have lots of stuff they have been saving for years.

But be wary of scammers. Scammers troll all web site wanted pages, and will respond telling you they have exactly what you need, just send money. The more sophisticated scammers can even send a picture, a pic they pulled off the internet.

There is a gauge cluster on Ebay right now, it is kind of pricey. If you just need some good gauges, you can also find them on Ebay for less money.

Here is another one:

A good search engine for parts is https://ownster.com/
It searches E-Bay and Craigs list.

Be sure to buy the Club's 1941-1948 Book. It will help you restore the car to original.

I have retired from restoring car.
So I have some miscellaneous parts that may be of use.
One is a 1941 horn button/ horn ring, in very good condition.
Let me know if you’d like to talk about parts I have.
Good luck, 41’s are the best.
