Topic: Rumble Seat latch

I have always been able to open the rumble Seat on my 1936 Cabriolet with no.problem. Yesterday however, I turned the handle in the usual way but it would not open. My impression is that the latch is not moving enough even though I am turning the handle in the normal way

In any.case, I.need to access the lock mechanism from the inside but this doesn't appear easy. What is the best way to do this?

I think you have to access the rumble area though the PASS SIDE, ,
there should be a crawl space on that side, behind the curtain,
it is quite tight,
make sure you bring a few tools, there is a nut with a lock tap, that you will have to bent ,to remove the nut which I believe it 1/2 "
and make sure you Lube the lock, it is most likely stuck
this is what I have on my 37 CABRIOLET
hope this helps 37Ragtopman

When the handle is unlocked can you turn the handle? if not you may be able to unlock the handle from the outside of the car.
