Topic: 1935 Ford accelerator pedal replacement

I have a new one...modified slightly to move the pedal farther to the right of the brake pedal.

I took the old one off, pulling it off the pin on the end of the pedal shaft...not hard but a little effort.

Does anyone know how to push the new one onto the shaft? I can't seem to hold it to push the knob into the rubber retainer...

Thank you.

I have a 39, might be the same. I put a small vice grip on the throttle rod and put some spray lube on the rubber and forced it on.

Shoovel...wonderful idea! Right after breakfast and I'll let you know. Thanks.

Perfetto. I was prepared to grimace and twist...and it slipped on like a sock. I put WD40 in the pedal hole...let it sit for 10 seconds...and I wasn't sure it actually fit. But it was tight. Thanks for the great advice...this should go in a file of repairs that work.
