Years ago, my dad bought property downtown in a small town. The old barn had to be torn down (I told you it's a small town!) but inside was an ancient gas pump. He still has it but we know little about it and would appreciate any info that anybody may have. I have seen pictures of the pump in service, on the sidewalk in front of the lot, in the teens or twenties. I know that TECHNICALLY this is not a V8 Ford, so maybe this isn't the forum for it, but figure a bunch of motor heads that love old iron may be interested in such things. Chris

Before automobiles,they had similar pumps to pump kersone for stoves, and lamp oil that was also used for lights in houses, it could be for automobiles, it would nice to see a makers name on it or a GAS CO NAME on it like MOBIL OIL or GULF ETC, if you were to E-BAY it,, you will find out exactly what it was used for, do a little more reserch on GOOGLE and such, and you should come up with a answer, being earlier does not necessarily make it worth more but then again maybe it is,usually collectors like the oil co name on it, good luck with it, I have a EXPERT friend that restores old gas pumps and such, his number is CELL 207 944 3128 Maine JIM LEIGHTON if you emailed him the pictures he will shed some light on it, KEEP ON TRUCKIN, 37RAGTOPMAN

Old gas pumps have become very popular. Here, in Iowa, we have an annual auction of all kinds of gas station stuff, ranging from oil cans to pumps. Fully restored pumps often go for thousands, depending upon the brand. The Standard pumps with the huge "crown" globe usually bring the top $. I've seen rusty and dirty pumps that look mostly like junk also bring high dollars, so don't toss it out. There are several web sites devoted to this section of the hobby that you may find interesting.
