What is the approximate max temperature of the exhaust manifold on an 85 HP V8 ?

I don't recall ever having seen a figure. The manifold temperature varies directly with the load and the fuel mixture. Very lean can turn a manifold nearly red under some conditions.

I take it you are looking for a good exhaust paint or coating, EASTWOOD has a stainless steel coating,that works, but remember what ever you use, you will have to apply once in a while. they all change in time and use, Be sure to read directions, KEEP ON TRUCKIN 37RAGTOPMAN,,,,
