Looking for some help.. trying to either fix or replace the hydrostadtic fuel gauge, I have the horns working but the button on the steering wheel is temperamental so I want to take it off (unclear how), the spring on the brake pedal is shot so whenever the e-brake is on the light stays on.. (not sure the part number to replace it).. and last thing -- where do I get bulbs (6 volt). THANKS

I had trouble with getting both horns to work nice on our 33, I ended up putting a 6v relay down on the inner guard and then just used the horn button to turn on the relay, they have worked fine now for years .

The brake light issue could also be from some the linkage on the hand brake hanging up on other parts of the linkage. When you pull the hand brake it's linkage also pulls the brake pedal, which it should not do. Look to Third Gen Auto for the correct spring. What light bulbs do you need? NAPA sells some but they may have to order them in. The fuel guage usually can be fixed. There are many posting on www.fordbarn.com regarding the various fixes. Lots of goood reading. Do a search there.

Interesting.. that is exactly what is happening. You pull the hand brake and it depresses the brake pedal...which in turn had the rear brake light stay on -- devastating effect when you dont remember to disconnect the brake since it drains the battery.. (hence also looking for bulbs since the one side is now dead). Ill take a look. I have read many articles on the fuel gauge. If I could ask another question; it looks like the gauge has a blue crystal remain in the bottom. Everything says the liquid was red. My assumption is the blue material is just a by product of corrosion ? Thanks again for the reply!!

I am thinking their is an issue with the contacts under the button on the steering wheel. I assume that the light switch ring and the horn button can be removed, I just dont want to damage them and cant find anything on the "how"...

Take out one of your stop light bulbs and go to one of the national chain auto supply stores and ask them for a replacement. The bulb should have a number on the base and you can also "Google" that number to find an online supplier. Any of the vendor listed in the links can also supply you with replacement bulbs.
