Topic: 47 Ford Windshield Wiper Vacuum Tank

cknudsen7    -- 03-21-2021 @ 4:55 PM
I was recently able to acquire a Windshield Wiper Vacuum Tank (51A-17639) still in the original Fomoco box. I've been trying install the tank but can't seem to get it to fit per the provided drawing. I can get the two rear brackets connected but the lower front bracket is no where long enough to connect the tank to the fender brace mounting as show in the drawing. Does anyone have a vacuum tank mounted in their car and can send me some pictures of the installation.

Thanks,
Chris

I can do it in a few days and send it to you in PM, if it is still relevant!

It appears Amanda has fallen into a black hole so, I still need to get a picture of the vacuum tank installation if someone would be so kind.

Don't expect much improvement with the vacuum "tank". When I worked for a Ford dealer, we installed some. They looked like they were just a #10 tin can. They should include a check valve in the line to the manifold. We get those from local hot tub dealer. C&G sells a 6 volt wiper motor for 40, 41-42, 46-48. They come complete with switch and all needed to mount, They are on the pricey side, at $199, but if you drive in rain they are the best choice.Their order line is 800-266-0470.
