Topic: WOW....!

I drove the 1940 Sedan today for the first time in over a month.

This was the first time I drove it with all the things that were rattling underneath fixed, and all four shocks re-built, new shock links installed, and the anti-roll bar doing its job.

The difference was amazing!

It was much quieter (especially when going over bumps).

It was much firmer/stiffer-a much better ride.

And the body roll in turns is grossly reduced.

The handling/steering is much better.

Thank you to all who have helped and answered my many questions over the last six months.

The steering gearbox will be next, then if the front spring shackles are good (the rear ones were), I can start getting it ready for paint!

All of Ford's advertising in 1940 were extolling the virtues of "The New Ford Ride" for the cars.

Sounds like you've been experiencing it.

Congratulations.
