Topic: Fuel lines

Wondered if anyone can help with my query about the fuel line between the fuel tank (under bench seat) and the firewall flex hose on my 1945 half ton pick up. Looking at the tank, it looks like the tank take off drops out the bottom of the tank and runs forward to the firewall. If that is correct I’m concerned about bits in the tank always being sucked thru. Should there be an upstand Inside the tank?
Its been suggested for me to fit a good quality in line filter. Where is the best location?
Appreciate any guidance.

The fuel pump has a screen that will catch harmful debris. If you clean your tank and coat the inside with a ethanol resistant coating, you should not need an external filter. The PO of my Lincoln installed a filter near the tank and it is still as clean as the day that I replaced it after a tank coating failure.

Buy a correct copper coated steel replacement fuel line from Third Gen Ford parts, some of the other copper coated lines do not have enough protection against internal rust.
