I found the right heater hose support bracket for my 48 flathead, I know that is mounted on the right side of the engine, I just need the location information, is it mounted on a head stud or some other location on the engine?

Not sure what you have without a picture. On my 42 it is sort of a double clamp with one side clamping the hose and the other side clamping the hose to the steel tube conduit for the spark plug wires.

From looking at cars for sale , it looks like it goes on the bottom head stud in the row just behind the no. 1 spark plug. https://classiccars.com/listings/view/1433479/1947-mercury-coupe-for-sale-in-san-jose-california-95129 I searched Mercury for sale as more of them had heaters. Tom

thanks for the post it did the trick, is it alright to remove stud nut to mount the bracket without re-torqueing all the head nuts?

You should be able to remove and replace the nut on one stud without re-torquing the rest of the nuts. It is not a bad idea to check the torque for 55 Ft.lbs. on all of the nuts occasionally. Tom
