I do not get spark at the plug. I have a new coil and I’m getting spark all the faint to the distributor. I have a positive ground going to the coil the new coil shows plus minus I have it hooked to the plus side not sure if that’s correct. Any thoughts on the condenser being the problem?

original 36 engine? distributor 36? faint spark could mean bad condenser, bad rotor button, cruddy points, shorted out rotor button and a lot of other things, need more details

Thanks Alan I’m going to start with the condenser and take the top off the distributor to see if the points are operational

Your post leads me to believe that you have an aftermarket coil adapter on your distributor. If this is the case and you are using a 49-55 Ford coil replacement, you will have to bypass the resister on the dash (firewall) to give a full 6 volts to the coil. The wire from the ignition switch goes to the - terminal on the coil and the wire from the + terminal on the coil goes to the adapter plate. Tom
