Topic: Correct Mounting Hardware for Splashpans?

RAK402    -- 01-22-2021 @ 11:47 PM
There are two splashpans underneath my 1940 Deluxe Sedan.

Both are attached in two places (it looks like there should be at least three attachment points).

The Pitman arm passes through the one of the driver's side.

What is the correct hardware for attaching these panels?

It there any anti-squeak/webbing between the panels and the frame?

Are there any photographs of these (the one on the passenger side of the car is pretty bent near the starter from a previous owner)?

Thank you all in advance.

All passenger cars were equipped with engine pans. They were painted gloss black and fastened to the frame in three places with hex washer head screws (39881-S7). These screws had an indented head with an integral washer and were 7/16" across flats. At each attachment point an antisqueak pad (48-6780) was placed between the pan and frame.
This pad is VERY similar to modern day duck cloth, available at any decent fabric store.

Vehicles equipped with 85 and 95 hp engines were fitted with a right pan, (91A-6775) and a left pan (91A-6776). Around May 10, 1940 a 0.370" diameter drain hole was placed in the bottom of the left pan.
