I have lost the key to the spare tire om my 1936 Ford Model 68. A lock smith was unsuccessful in getting it open. Any suggestions.

See if any of your V-8 buddies have some spare keys and give them a try. You may get lucky. If not you may have to drill out the lock.

Hopefully others will send you some extra keys too. It would be great to have a collection of keys available through the EFV8 Foundation for rent as I am sure there are others with similar problems.

I have a single set. Attempted to have a key guy here in Eugene, Oregon make another set for me. No one had blanks. Question: anyone know the % of interchangeability between cars?

Looks like an Ebay seller called "autonut2" in Ann Arbor MI has key blanks to fit a 1936 Ford spare tire lock.
