Topic: 39 Standard lock cylinders.

Hi Guys, my 39 Tudor Standard has 2 lock cylinders. One in the passenger door and one in the trunk handle. I've owned the car for 19 yrs and never locked it at shows or otherwise. The locks don't work well. They only work when you juggle the key up and down while turning. When I do try to lock , I'm really not sure how they are supposed to work. Do you turn the key 180 degree or 360 degree ? Even when I do turn the key, it doesn't seem to work properly.
Can someone please explain ?
Thanks...

The ignition key should work the door and the glove box key the trunk. If you can turn the trunk cylinder about 90 degrees and push down on the retaining pin through the small hole you can remove the cylinder which should have a code stamped on the side. With the code you can have a new key made that should work the cylinder better. The door cylinder also has the code and can be removed from the door by loosening the set screw on the side of the door. With new keys it should be rather obvious how the cylinders work. The door and trunk key can be removed in the lock or unlock position.

I'm missing the trunk key. Is there a way to remove it without the key ?

Remember reading somewhere (?) that the glove box and trunk use the same key.
