I received an email from a member asking about the “59 L” on his 1940s flathead engine. He knows about the “59 B “ engine but had never heard of a “59 L”. engine. Can anyone tell me what the. “59 L” engine is? V8TEditor This message was edited by v8teditor on 1-6-21 @ 11:54 AM

You will find your answer here > http://myflatheadford.com/differences-in-59-series-blocks/ "The 59L blocks are harder than the 59, 59A, 59AB blocks with an accompanying increased resistance to cracking and wear. Due to their increased hardness, they will tolerate a bigger bore without cylinder wall flexing than the softer blocks."
