I'm told that this is a hubcap with bracket that fits a 1936 Ford car. Can anyone verify what it fits and what year(s). Thanks in advance. JP

What you have there is a 1936 1/2 ton pickup locking spare tire cap. It was used up through 1939 with different covers. The cap opens to the lock.

I've seen some on the internet, with a small cover (about the size of a nickel) over the lock, but didn't see one on mine. I will double check mine tomorrow. I may try to get a picture of the back side also. Thanks for the info. JP

Here's a picture of the back side of the hub cap. There's no lock on the front. Thanks JP

I understand now. Any caps with a lock that I have seen had the lock on the outside of the cap. Thanks again! JP
