Can I put a “modern” steel wheel on my 16 inch hub ? And where do I find them?
Thank you very much!
Don

You can't put later model wheels on a '39 because of the wide bolt pattern. You can change the drums on the '39 to '40-48, which are 5 on 5.5" bolt pattern and will accept any Ford wheel. '40 -48 and Ford F100's through '95. Of course the 39 hub caps will not fit the '40 later drums.
I would guess that anything is possible, somethings just take longer and cost more money. Custom made wheels can be very costly.

1939 Ford Deluxe Coupe. Yes, has that wide bolt pattern.

Thank you very much for that info! I may go the ‘40-48 route , doubt I’ll do the custom wheel thing!! $$$$$$$$$

55willys on the HAMB makes wide five to 5 on 5 1/2 adapters. He is has no current supply but he is actively seeking orders. That might be a way to go if he gets enough orders to justify another production run. Bolt on the adapters and then 5 on 5 1/2 wheels.
