What color is the rear view mirror supposed to be painted? Color code possibly.

IF it is like the 37 mirror (I don't know this for a fact), the color is rustic brown. You can find more info regarding the paint details if you do a search on "rustic brown" . I started a thread on this back in 2017. gregg

According to the Green Bible, page 652, p/n: 21A-17700A is the rear view mirror and bracket assembly for years 32-42. I would not have guessed that... gregg

1938 standard I think the rear view mirror, steering wheel and steering column should be the same color, I also painted the radio box to match this is what did on my 37 Cabriolet hope this helps 37Ragtopman

1937sedan... Parts books only list service parts. Not necessarily will they match what was installed on the car when it was built. The mirror you mention is NOT correct for any year prior to 1942. It will fit, but NOT be correct. Mike "Kube" Kubarth

37ragtop, The column and wheel are the same color. The mirror is not. The radio box was a dull black (very slightly) textured paint. Mike "Kube" Kubarth

Well I am not Kube, but the "Chassis Parts List" June 1937 says that 78-17700-A is for 700, 720, 730 and 770 (brown moulding) and that -B is for 760 A and B. The List has a B prefix for 1932 and a 68 prefix for 1935 and 1936.

Oval shaped mirror head and bracket were Zephyr Beige. This is the same as the steering column. Mike "Kube" Kubarth

I can't speak to the 38 mirror, but the 37 mirror/bracket is rustic brown, at least according to "The 1937 Ford Book".
