Topic: rear quarter window (4d sedan)

Can I remove the rear quarter window in its frame without removing the rubber seal? (1939 4d sedan)
Conversely, when reassembling, should the rubber seal be in place before inserting the window in its frame?
(I am not referring to the finished interior window frame but to the frame around the glass itself.)

Hi FordMerc, First off; I have a '40 Fordor, not a '39. I've never removed said window, but when I installed it, I surrounded the glass with the rubber seal, then installed the two pieces as an assembly - piece of cake. I would guess you'll need to remove the glass and seal as a single unit. Remove the inner bezel / trim piece, then push inward.

the quarter window comes out as an assembly. Take the interior trim off and window comes out as one assembly. Pretty simple

  That works.
I thought that might be the case but the reassurance was necessary. Thanks
