Topic: 1950 O'DRIVE Transmission Overhaul/Repair

I called the "Go To Guy,"( Vanpelt) and he won't let me ship it on a pallet. He says, "Build a box for it and ship it UPS," He says he can't receive a Tractor trailer at his work shop, and he won't go off site to pick it up at a nearby spot!

It has "Whine" in 1st, and 2nd gear; 3rd is quiet. Does anybody know what is wrong with it? Is it an easy fix that I can do? I did a 1967 Falcon once, in 1970 on the ground, and it was a "Piece of Cake! (If I remember right it was a main shaft chipped tooth?)

Does anybody know a good transmission guy, to repair a '50 trans. w/o'drive, closer to Florida?; or if not nearer to Florida; anywhere that I can ship it on a pallet? There is a guy in Vermont; "Roxbury Gearbox;" He says he has the tools, and know how to do the job. Is he good?; and a guy in Ohio; "Canton Transmission." Your recommendations are appreciated!
