Mac VanPelt's book contains a wealth of good information on the early ford transmissions. Personally, I wouldn't recommend any of Tardel's books. The Ford Repair Manual for Transmissions, Clutches, Overdrives and Power Take-Offs 1932-47 is also very useful and can be purchased from many sources.
