Topic: 1947 Ford car fresh air heater

I am attaching a photo for reference but what I am needing are vendors for seals and gaskets for my heater. I know there is a rubber gasket where the motor mounts to the flange; is there a gasket where the flange mounts to the blower housing. If so, does someone make this or will I need to make my own? I know there is a rubber seal where the blower housing mounts to the firewall but I can find one. Will I need to use some type of universal seal from Steele? There is also a rubber ring seal on top of the housing where the fresh air duct in the hood sets on the housing when the hood closes. Does anyone know where I can buy that or is that another universal seal from Steele? Thanks in advance for the replies.

Most, if not all, heaters were dealer installed. The fresh air model was expensive, for the time, so are fairly rare. That makes trying to find parts very difficult. When the cars were salvaged, usually the heaters were not removed. It took me long time to find the more common "three door" type for my '47, After a long search. I did get one from an old yard in Missouri. It is likely you will have to improvise the seals and gaskets you need..

That is pretty much the conclusion I came to. Thanks again

Did you check with Metro Molded Products in Minnesota? They make a lot of rubber parts that you cannot get anywhere else. www.metrommp.com. Also check with the Mustang parts dealers as there may be a round foam seal for the heater that may work for your heater.
