  Thanks for the add.

I wanted to join this forum to introduce myself and a recently started effort to produce an 8BA engine block. Most of my exposure of the project has been on The Ford Barn and Face Book so far.

I have Model A blocks under way and the 8BA is next in line.

I can post a few pictures of one of my 5 main iron Model A blocks showing the kind of casting one can expect when the 8BA is cast if anyone is interested.

I'M assuming you will be casting a special crankshaft for this block. I'd like to see a picture of it too.

The 5 main Model A blocks I am making are for customers that already have a crank, but early interest might necessitate me making a crank for more customers than I anticipated. My main focus will be 3 main blocks.

Out of curiosity, why a 5-main bearing A block rather than the superior B block?

Tod    -- 11-07-2020 @ 8:53 AM
The A block is more plentiful and my 3 main blocks (5 mains also) will have A or B main capacity, as well as full pressure internal oiling to all journals. The people wanting these 5 main blocks want the A look. Superiority of the original B over the A is irrelevant in the case of my blocks.
